Fuel tank for fire pump

Detail:

-The size of the fuel tank for a fire pump should be sufficient for the engine to operate for at least 12 hours with a fuel consumption rate of NFPA standards plus an additional 5% for fuel expansion and another 5% for the tank bottom. For instance, for an FD140H fire pump engine from FIRE DRIVER with BHP=127 HP and a fuel consumption rate of 34 L/hr, the minimum fuel tank size should be 34 L/hr x 12 hr x 110% = 449L.
-Therefore, the minimum fuel tank size should be 449 liters to comply with the standards, and the fuel level in the tank should be controlled to maintain at least 2/3 of the tank capacity to ensure the pump is always ready for operation, as required by the NFPA standards.
-Once we have clear information, we can save costs in selecting the fuel tank size and in managing the installation space.
To enhance the efficiency of fire suppression, it is necessary to regularly check and test the fire pump engine, which helps keep the engine ready for operation at all times.
